Landsec – Trinity Leeds

BLK BX is a pioneering new approach to retail, art, music and fashion. The concept is a starting point to addressing the changing needs of retail in shopping centres and high streets. The project is based in Leeds, and is supported by Landsec and Leeds City Council. BLX BOX aims to support and give opportunities to young and up and coming artists. The space within Trinity Leeds shopping centre features a rotating roster of artists, brands, designers and musicians. To be given an internal space of this size to curate and manage is unique. As street art is an ephemeral art form the space will be constantly updated as any street space would be. New artists will come in and refresh certain areas or create new areas within the mall. Ollystudio will curate some of the units in the mall as artists’ residencies, giving the public the opportunity to meet with artists and see first hand the processes that they use to create their work.
